Floyd is the most magical little Appalachian town full of blue ridge views and the sound of folk and bluegrass and old time music floating around the town square. It is from another time, but also so very alive with feet stomping jamborees and spontaneous jams that spill out onto the streets. Floyd is for artists and dreamers, and the subject of this portrait is both these things.

Sri Lanka is full of stunning views to reward you if you hike to the temples atop mountain peaks. I wasn’t the only one enjoying the beautiful vistas this day!

When I came to them I knew I had to take their photograph, because they so beautifully encapsulate so much of the wonder and beauty in this place.

This is Aaji, and during her photoshoot she was teaching me Pranayama breath-work yoga in her home in New Delhi. One of the most special things about photographing people is learning so much about what they love. I will never forget this day of practicing yoga and photographing Aaji’s wisdom and peaceful heart.

It was so much fun to shoot Scott and Lila, a musical duo with personalities as lovely as their music. It’s hard to say if it was more fun taking photos or listening to them serenade me with their musical beauty in between all the shots!
